Winemaker's Notes:
The Yalumba Barossa Shiraz is deep purple red in colour with
complex aroma of cloves, dark cherries, and vanilla, with the Viognier
adding delightful sweet floral characters. Rich and silky on the palate, this
wine sees ripe plums and licorice meet with soft tannins to finish.Yalumba has, for more than 150 years, been a
vital part of the Barossa, making wines that
reflect the best of the region. This wine is no
exception. Made from Barossa Shiraz grown
on 30-50 year old vines, this vintage has
been enhanced with an added splash of
Viognier - a rare and exotic grape variety.
The Viognier has added a sweet floral lift on
the nose, supporting the Shiraz flavours of
plums, dark cherries and spice, and has given
the wine a richer mouthfeel and silky texture.
