Woop Woop Shiraz 2012
Syrah/Shiraz from Australia
Carefully selected parcels of grapes were sourced from a selection of renowned Shiraz vineyards in premium Australian wine regions, including Riverland, Padthaway, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek in South Australia, where brilliant sun and ancient soils do their best.
Winemaker, Ben Riggs and his team enthused as the fruits of their labour evolved into a full-bodied and flavorsome wine, deep-hued with richly scented aromatics and a long, soft and juicy palate. Of lush mouthfeel, bursting with blackberry, blueberry jam and liquorice, this wine guarantees a true Australian Shiraz experience.
International Wine Cellar - "Opaque ruby. Sexy, smoke- and spice-accented aromas and flavors of blueberry, cassis and dark cherry. Fleshy and sweet, with a suave floral quality carrying through a gently tannic and persistent finish. Offers outstanding value and is already very easy to drink."
Woop Woop Winery
Slang for "in the middle of nowhere", Woop Woop isn't a bad name for a ripper Aussie wine. Woop Woop is a collaboration between Ben Riggs, winemaker and Tony Parkinson, vineyard owner. They sourced grapes from the backblocks - outside their normal area of operation – they almost went to Woop Woop and back to find the right fruit. Nearly to the Outback, way past the black stump. Woop Woop wines capture the essence of ripe grapes sourced from Currency Creek, McLaren Vale and the Riverina, together with a good dose of Aussie humor. View all Woop Woop Wines
About South AustraliaMcLaren Vale, Coonawarra and Barossa Valley, South Australia produces some of the finest red wines of the country, and some say in the world. White wines gain their reputation from the distinctive Rieslings of Clare Valley and Eden Valley.
About AustraliaLike the United States, which is about the same size, Australia's winemaking regions are huddled into one or two pockets of the country. The state of South Australia, which produces about 60% of the country's wine, also has the most wineries and sub-regions, including McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Coonawarra and Barossa Valley. New South Wales is home to the Hunter Valley, while the smaller, southern state of Victoria is best known for theYarra Valley. Head way west to the very large state of Western Australia and you'll find the tiny region of Margaret River at the southern tip.

Good value for the money. I think the other reviewers were expecting a $50 bottle of wine for 12 bucks. Definitely not in the same camp as a Mollydooker Carnival Of Love of the same vintage, but it works for a casual night with some friends over pizza or pasta. Decent drink-it-now Shiraz.23/7/2014Not impressed,either.111/23/2013This wine was not very good at all. I would not recommend this wine to anyone. I took one drink. It will now be used for my prego and thin spaghetti. This wine was rated a 90. I will find it difficult to trust these ratings from now on. A waste of money.
