This "Artist Series" Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from some of the finest and most highly regarded vineyards in Washington State. Each produces fantastic wine in their own right; when blended they produce extraordinary wine.
This wine has an enticingly complex nose of baking spice, ripe olive and thyme integrated beautifully with aromas of black fruits and cassis. In the mouth the wine is firm but rich showing notes of pepper, herb and berries. Integrated tannins enhance the texture and give proportion; the finish is complex, generous, and long. While this wine can be enjoyed now it will benefit greatly from additional cellaring and, with proper storage, should develop for ten years or more.
Blend: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc,
7% Syrah, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Merlot
"One of the standouts in the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series comes from a number of vineyards throughout Washington (mostly from, Champoux, Canoe Ridge and Sagemoor) and spent 22 months in French oak prior to bottling. Full-bodied, seamless and layered, with fabulous mid-palate, it offers up classic creme de cassis, lead pencil shavings, black raspberry, toast and dried soil like aromas and flavors. Count me a fan. This beautifully balanced effort will evolve gracefully for 15 to 20 years."
The Wine Advocate
"Toast and mocha scents and flavors surround a core of tart red berries. More barrel influence comes out as the wine breathes—clove, spice and smoke—as it rolls into a tightly-wrapped, tannic finish."
