Winemaker's Notes

A wine of balance, finesse and ageability. On the nose, it has blackberry and coffee aromas. On the palate, it's full-bodied with black cherries and has outstanding length. Aged 12 months in fine-grained French oak.

Critical Acclaim

"This stands out for its freshness compared to other warm reds of Colchagua, in the tension that its acidity brings to the flavors and the herbal notes that cool the finish. It's a rich cabernet for chicken curry."

Style: Big & Bold
A strong flavored wine with fruit and coffee flavors, strong up front flavors and unique flavors after, med finish, thought it was good, needed cleearing to smooth out. Took it to a dinner party and it was a big hit with a crowd that typically fancies big wines and was a crowd favorite.

Not impressed right out of the bottle. We grabbed a case of this for our club's red. Opened the first bottle two days ago. Initial taste OK but a bit sharp. After sitting a bit in the glass, the tannins smoothed out and the fruit began to show through. Should be good for our purpose.

Learn About William Cole

William Cole Vineyards lay deep within Chile's prestigious Casablanca Valley—often called "Chile’s Burgundy." This cool climate vineyard near the coast, which is comprised of over 129 contiguous hectares, provides a long, warm growing season with cool nights to develop excellent acidity. Owned by Bill Cole and his Chilean family, the winery specializes in cool climate varieties, and the wines are crisp, clean and complex. The winery makes two lines: Albamar and Columbine Reserve.

Learn About Chile

(CHEE-lay) Long and thin, Chile has a lot of land north to south. The wine region here is a series of districts based near Santiago. The vineyards are protected by the Pacific on the west and the Andes mountains on the east. This could help explain why the climate changes more from east to west than north to south - also why the country has remained phylloxera free....

Learn About Cabernet Sauvignon

(cab-uhr-NAY sow-veeh-yawn) King of Red Many refer to Cabernet Sauvignon as the king of red grapes. Perhaps that title is due to its ability to grow worldwide in a number of climates, or to the fact that it produces wine with such character yet such diversity. Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
