Whitehall Lane Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
The 1997 vintage of this wine was ranked #3 on the Wine Spectator's Top 10 Wines of 2000
92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot. The 2007 vintage is a big, ripe cabernet sauvignon. It balances the deep flavors of cassis, blackberry and raspberry with the chewy, ripe tannins and sweet toasty oak. The Malbec and Petit Verdot were added to the blend for complexity and flavor nuances. This is a wine to enjoy through 2022.
Wine Spectator - "A wonderful mix of spicy wild berry, black currant, sage and mineral flavors. Full-bodied and slow to unfold, but expansive, gaining depth and richness on the finish, with a grainy, minerally aftertaste. Drink now through 2019."
Wine Enthusiast - "Made in the modern style of extreme ripeness, softness and deliciousness. Really captivates for its wealth of cherry and raspberry jam, ripe blackberry tart and oak-inspired vanilla and butterscotch flavors. Hard to predict where it’s going due to the softness, but it’s sure tasty now."

Notable FactsWithin the Napa Valley lie smaller sub-AVAs that lend even more character specifics to the wines. Furthest south is Carneros, followed by Yountville, Oakville & Rutherford. Above those two is St.-Helena and finally, just grated an AVA, Calistoga. These areas are situated on the valley floor and are known for creating rich, smooth Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay. There are a few mountain regions as well, nestled on the slopes overlooking the valley AVAs. Those include Howell Mountain, Stags Leap and Mount Veeder. Wines from the mountain regions are often more structured and firm, benefiting from more time in the bottle to evolve and soften.
