Alcohol By Volume: 14.5%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Equal proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot showcase the vineyard's strengths. The wine is barrel aged in 70% new French oak to provide the desired aromas of sweet vanilla and pungent toasted oak. The flavors are soft and fruity. The wine structure is firm, but not hard. Elegant now, the wine will reward those with patience.

Critical Acclaim

"Blended in equal parts of Merlot and the two Cabernets, and made with 70% new French oak, it’s all unintegrated blackberries, cherries, violets, minerals, sweet cedarwood and vanilla spice. Quite a fine wine whose softly complex tannins will enable it to age."
