Winemaker's Notes:

Bodegas Nora's philosophy is to allow the Albariño grape to achieve maximum expression of its maturity which helps develop Nora's signature crisp style full of melon and tropical fruit flavors. It is a great gamble to keep the grapes on the vine as long as possible to maximize maturity because of the constant threat of autumn rains. The particular location for these vineyards is unique because this area of Rias Baixas receives more sun light and the Gulf Stream in the Atlantic provides a moderating influence despite the fact that the vineyards are on the same latitude as Massachusetts in the United States and the Miño River provides early morning fog to cool the warm summer days.

Although Albariño is an Atlantic varietal, it loves the sun. The grape only reaches its maximum potential when it is harvested fully ripe producing a medium to full bodied, refreshing white wine.

About Bodega Vina Nora:

Bodegas Nora is owned by Javier Alen, a well-respected Galician producer of Viña Mein and Victor Rodriguez, the former director of Vino y Gastronomia (one of the most respected wine and food magazines in Spain). It's located about 12 miles from the historic village of Tui (in Galician), Tuy (in Castilian). This village marks the borders of the sub regions O Rosal and Condado de Tea, as well as the site of one of the oldest Jewish settlements in Spain.

Alistair Gardner, an enologist from New Zealand creates Nora from the native Albariño grape using the most modern wine making technology to coax the greatest expression of the varietal and terroir upon which it is grown into the wines.
