From the expression "rarer than a green dog" El Perro Verde is Quim Vila's latest project from the historic high altitude vineyards of Rueda, made by Javier Lorenzo at Bodegas y Viñedos Ángel Lorenzo Cachazo. 100% Verdejo sourced from three parcels, consisting of old bush vines near La Seca. Average age of the vines range from 15 to 35 years. Fermented and aged in stainless-steel tanks.
"Light yellow. Subtle orchard fruits on the nose, with a suave tangerine note emerging with aeration. Nervier lime and orange zest on the palate, which offers good fleshy texture and gentle mineral lift. Gains heft on the finish, which features musky yellow plum and succulent herbal qualities. An impressive blend of power and verve."
