Winemaker's Notes

"The 2003 Barbera d'Asti La Crena is simply off the charts. It is a rich, explosive Barbera packed with vibrant layers of jammy ripe fruit wrapped around a core of minerality that defines the best wines from Asti. I have often paired this heady, exotic Barbera with truffles, a combination sure to satisfy the senses as well as the intellect. Although I have no doubts it is capable of aging I have enjoyed this wine most in its exuberant youth. It too is not to be missed. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2012." 93 Points

April 2007

"Opulent and succulent, with chocolate and ripe plum character on the nose and palate. Full, lively and juicy. From old vines. Drink now." 90 Points
