Winemaker's Notes:
A blend comprised primarily of Merlot, La Muse demonstrates the elegance and finesse of a Pomerol-style wine. This wine begins with a deep purple color, followed by a very fragrant and generous nose that reveals concentrated cassis, blackberry and notes of raspberry with waves of mushroom, damp earth and smoke. All this is confirmed on the palate. In addition to slight black tea notes, there is a surprising minerality on the tip of the tongue along with beautiful, supple tannins, followed by a very long, rich finish.
"The impressively saturated ruby/purple-colored 2002 La Muse (92.5% Merlot, 7.2% Cabernet Franc, and a tiny dollop of Malbec) boasts a sweet nose of chocolate-covered blueberries, blackberries, melted licorice, smoked herbs, and earth. This opulent, full-bodied, luscious 2002 conceals plenty of tannin behind its voluptuous personality. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2020+." 94 Points Wine Advocate

""Bright ruby-red. Ripe aromas of black plum, licorice, chocolate and menthol; slightly reduced. Sweet, lush, broad and deep, with black cherry, mocha and cocoa powder flavors complicated by a balsamic note. Finishes with dusty, building tannins." 92 Points International Wine Cellar
