Fruity & Smooth

Alcohol By Volume: 14.2%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Ventana's Chardonnay is light, yet fresh and focused, displaying tropical fruit notes of pineapple and mango. It is well balanced and tastes of Gala apple, pear and spicy floral tones. Light oak notes lead to hints of vanilla and honey highlights. The perfect balance of fruit, oak and acidity makes this an exceptional sipping and food friendly Chardonnay.

Try it with a light pasta dish and apple spiced pork roast.

Style: Fruity & Smooth
Pair with: oven baked chicken in a light wine reduction sauce
A really fine effort, the sleek and beautifully balanced 2012 Ventana Estate Chardonnay plays between citrus and core fruit flavors; just a suggesstion of oak, but very little (mostly for textures) bright and crisp in the finish.
