winemaker's notes:
Only careful cultivation, well-managed microproduction, vinification differentiated
by variety and estate using low-volume tanks, and above all, the miracle worked by the Priorat region on both the native varieties and on Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes can explain the splendid result: Embruix, Catalan for bewitching.
Immediately agreeable, but with a repertoire of powerful aromas and flavors, this is a wine that satisfies both the connaisseur and the casual consumer.

critical acclaim:
"Vall LLach’s entry-level 2008 Embruix, sourced from the estate’s younger vines, is composed of 30% Garnacha, 25% Carinena, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Syrah and Merlot aged for 14 months in seasoned French oak. Opaque purple in color with an expressive nose of cedar, lavender, spice box, mineral, licorice, black cherry, and black raspberry, on the palate it is full-bodied, smooth-textured, and sweetly fruited with outstanding volume and length. This outstanding value can be approached now and over the next 8-10 years. "

The Wine Advocate
"Opaque ruby. Aromas of dark berry compote, violet and licorice, with a bright mineral nuance emerging with air. Dense, sappy and sweet, with impressive concentration and depth to its black and blue fruit and floral flavors. Finishes long and spicy, with pliant tannins and lingering licorice and boysenberry qualities."
