Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.
Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.
Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
A deep black core with a red edge in the glass. Brave Faces Shiraz Grenache bursts forth with complex aromas of mint, herb, cedar, fresh cherries, lavender, potpourri, warm oil, smoke and wet bark. The palate starts very brooding with layers across the palate of juicy and generous fruits. There is a cut and sway of ripe fruits that rebound in the late palate with the defined Mataro notes adding length and direction. This is drinking beautifully now and will match all cuisines at the table.
"Youthful purple-crimson; the bouquet is aromatic, with a display of predominantly red fruits, but plum and spice also make their mark; the delicious palate is fresh and lively, with perfectly ripe fruit flavours; why is it that so many of these blends are 15.5%?"
Australian Wine Companion
"Firm, with a strong peppery character that plays against the dark currant and blueberry flavors, persisting into a beautifully focused, tightly framed finish. Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro. Best from 2014 through 2019."
"Bright ruby. High-pitched aromas of red berries and cherry are complicated by lavender, mocha and clove. Pliant red fruit flavors display very good energy and pick up weight and structure with air. Supple tannins lend shape to the finish, which features sexy floral and spicecake qualities."
