Winemaker's Notes:

Dark black. The nose shows lifted notes of spice, followed by an amalgam of fresh espresso, rich chocolate, dark cherries and freshly roasted almonds.

The mouthfeel is long, dense and coating with luscious licorice, mocha, spice and blackberry flavors. With more fruit weight and tannin than previous vintages, this is a lot of fun to drink now but will age nicely.

About Two Hands:

The Two Hands are Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz, who founded the company before the 2000 Vintage, with a clear objective of making the best possible Shiraz based wines from the best Shiraz producing regions with in Australia.

In 2000 they processed just 17 ton of Shiraz from McLaren Vale and Padthaway. In 2001 they increased production to 120 ton from Padthaway, McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley and in 2002 they proceed 150 ton of fruit from Clare Valley, Padthaway, McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley which included a few lots of Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2003 they plan to add a Shiraz based wine from Heathcote, Victoria.

Richard and Michael are focused on making the best wines possible with out taking any short cuts and bring the wines to the market place at consistent and fair price points.

The wines have been described by Jancis Robinson as "exceptional…densely charming, gently oaked style". Fragrant, textured, supple and juicily ripe the wines are of fantastic quality.

With the pick of the best barrels, exceptional fruit and gentle, stylish wine-making this is a tremendously exciting range of wines. Labelling is original, classy and compelling.
