Winemaker's Notes

Located in Sonoma, this certified organic vineyard was planted in the 1920s. At only 2 ½ acres, it is the smallest site we make into a vineyard designate, which is a shame, since the wines are consistently a staff favorite. The wines are aromatic and light, with lots of fruit and great acidity.

Critical Acclaim

"Slightly porty aromas of blackberry, blueberry and Tellicherry pepper. Suave, peppery and fine-grained, with its lush texture and richness nicely cut by a zippy rocky quality. The long, energetic finish features a whiplash of flavor. This is really singing today."
93 Points

"The full-bodied 2007 Zinfandel Vineyard 101 offers copious quantities of roasted herbs, saddle leather, blackberries, and berries, fresh acidity, delicious flavors, and a long, heady finish.
Range: 90-92"
