Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

100% Syrah bottled after 16 months in 10% new French wood. All the fruit comes from the awesome Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard at 3000 feet. This wine is loaded with boysenberry, blueberry, white and black pepper with a firm backbone. Enjoy it with your favorite barbeque or Italian dish.

Frankly just not as good as other Syrahs I have had in this price range. Seems to be missing the full Syrah varietal flavor I enjoy.
