The Toasted Head 2004 Chardonnay has ripe pear and nectarine aromas, with a touch of mango and tropical fruit, vanilla and light spice. On the palate, fresh nectarine, citrus and tropical fruit flavors are complemented by toasty butterscotch oak. The wine is rich, with ample acidity and a long, soft finish. History Toasted Head Chardonnay was introduced with the 1995 vintage. Named for the toasted-head barrels in which the wines are aged, the striking label features artist Robert Shetterly's drawing of a fire breathing bear.
