Our 2009 Three Saints Chardonnay opens with an inviting bouquet of Anjou pear, fuji apple, lemon zest, honeysuckle, fresh fig and a hint of wet stones. In the mouth, it is broad and giving without sacrificing verve. The fruit-driven characteristics found in the nose are joined by notes of orange blossom, honey and allspice. It finishes long with an emphasis on citrus, leaving one longing for just one more sip.
"From the Dierberg family’s estate-grown fruit, this is a rich chardonnay with white peach and green pear flavors. It’s finely tuned to its wood—15 percent of the barrels are new—and the flavors are integrated into the plump fruit. The finish is clean, sappy and a little salty, delicious with whole-roasted branzino."
Wine & Spirits
Three Saints wines are a vivid expression of carefully selected grapes from the Dierberg Family's vineyards which are located in three of Santa Barbara County's premium wine growing regions: Santa Maria Valley, Santa Rita Hills and Santa Ynez Valley.
Situated near the ocean in the larger Santa Barbara district, the Santa Maria Valley appellation runs east to west. Pacific Ocean air funnels in to cool the vineyards, allowing the grapes to evenly ripen and reach their full potential. This unique climate paired with the region's well-drained soils helps create some sought-after grapes.
