Fresh and open-textured, with some crisp tannins adding an edge to the generous cherry and plum fruit, persisting nicely on the finish.

Wine Enthusiast
A hard, tart, tightly wound Cabernet, with juicy berry flavors at the heart of the wine. This needs decanting and/or another couple of years in the bottle, but it’s well made and shows some real muscle for a Cabernet at this price.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Three Rivers' 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon gives up an attractive nose of spicy red fruits and floral aromas. Medium-bodied, savory, and well-balanced, this solid value will pair well with pizza and burgers...

Three Rivers Winery is a destination winery located just west of Walla Walla, Washington in the Columbia Valley wine country. Founded in 1999, Three Rivers Winery continues the tradition of acclaimed Walla Walla winemaking, handcrafting premium wines under the direction of Washington winemaking veteran Holly Turner. The winery is recognized for its quality and value driven wines, which are sourced from established vineyards and famed appellations from across Washington State. The 18,000 sq. ft. facility is set atop a small knoll overlooking the surrounding vineyards and includes a tasting room, meeting room and three short holes of golf for winery guests. Three Rivers Winery is a favorite destination for enthusiasts seeking a unique wine country experience.
Washington produces so many exciting wines, and that definitely includes Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. With over 10,000 acres under vine, Cabernet Sauvignon is now the most widely-grown varietal in the state. Terrific examples hail from sub-appellations like Red Mountain, Wahluke Slope, Horse Heaven Hills and Walla Walla Valley. One of the fascinations of these Columbia Valley Cabs is that they so often seem to have one foot in the New World and one in the Old. Representing the former are characteristics like the ripe, forward fruit that results from long sunny days during the growing season (up to two hours longer than in much of California). Old World similarities include an undeniable brightness from acidity, as well as notes of herbs, graphite and a dusty, sometimes gravelly minerality.
Whether you’re looking for a budget bottle for everyday enjoyment, or a stellar, world-class wine with tremendous aging potential, Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon wines can deliver the goods! Among the many fine options are bottles from Columbia Crest, Chateau Ste. Michelle, L’ecole #41, Quilceda Creek and Leonetti.
