Hailed by Wine Spectator as "one of the Cape's most consistently outstanding wines," Thelema's Cab regularly earns 90+ raves. Complex and stylish, this sleek benchmark bottling abounds with alluring flavors of blackberry and blackcurrant intertwined with notes of coffee, cedar, tobacco, and eucalyptus.

Wine Spectator
Ripe and focused, with alluring mint and cocoa notes up front, followed by velvety tannins that carry dark currant, warm fig sauce and coffee notes through the long finish. There's impressive latent grip as well. Drink now through 2012.

Wine Enthusiast
This classic Cabernet offers alluring aromas of green pepper, mocha, mint and smoke. Flavors of tobacco, smoke and ripe plum are savory and rich, with a lovely fine tannic structure and complex spice character. Lingering spice is another plus. Imported by Cape Classics.

In 1983, Gyles Webb and his wife's family purchased a run-down fruit farm at the top of the Helshoogte Pass in Stellenbosch, where they established Thelema Mountain Vineyards. At a time when the South African wine scene was focused on quantity rather than quality, Webb was a trailblazing pioneer on a mission to craft world-class wines. Construction began on the winery in 1987, and Thelema produced its first vintage in 1988. Situated on the slopes of the Simonsberg, Thelema occupies mainly south-facing aspects that afford spectacular views of the Simonsberg, Drankenstein and Jonkershoek mountains. Elevations ranging from 370 to 640 meters above sea-level make the 157-hectare estate one of the coolest and highest wine farms in Stellenbosch.
