Winemaker's Notes

The color is an intense cherry red, while the aroma is complex, with rich fruit, plum and anise.

On the palte the wine is creamy, rich and aromatic. Very expressive and the finish leaves a pleasant memory of light toasted notes.

Critical Acclaim

"Vivid ruby. High-pitched red berries and spices on the nose. Silky in texture and emphatically fruity, offering fresh raspberry and cherry flavors and a hint of tangy minerality. Very fresh, with strong finishing spiciness and lingering mineral note. There's a pinot-like clarity and focus here that's impressive."
91 Points

"This modern-style red is supple but shows underlying structure. Blackberry, floral, toast, mineral and smoke flavors show depth and complexity. Drink now through 2014. 1,000 cases imported."

I'm a newbie when it comes to Spanish wine, but I know what I like, and I loved this. Big, bold, spicy, earthy, fruit forward, ect. A lot going on but it was still very balanced. I've tried a lot of tempranillo since I bought this one, and although I enjoyed them all, this is my favorite. I only bought 2 bottles, and now it's no longer available, but the local guy has the 2007, which I hear is even better. And it is just a buck more. I still have one in cellar, so I think I will have to buy a few 2007 and compare them in a year or two.
