Intensely ruby red in colour with violet reflections, it has an intensely fruity aroma with hints of cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant and spicy overtones with hints of minerals and cloves. Soft and elegant, with pleasant tones of mature red fruits, plums and hints of tobacco, coffee and ground pepper.
Ideal with flavourful first courses with meaty sauces, white and red meat, mature cheeses and hot spicy cheeses.
"Terredora is firing on all cylinders these days. Virtually all of the wines I have tasted recently have been superb. The 2008 Lacryma Christi is 100% Piedirosso, one of Campania’s indigenous grapes, that spends eight months in French oak. This pedigreed red makes an impression with its bold wild cherries, smoke, ash, licorice, cracked black pepper and leather, all nuances that are typical of Piedirosso. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014. "
The Wine Advocate
Disappointing Red. The bottle I had was nearly undrinkable. VA and Brett issues abound. Too bad, I had high hopes for this one.
