Intensely ruby red in color with violet reflections, it has an intensely fruity aroma with hints of cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant and spicy overtones with hints of minerals and cloves. Soft and elegant, with pleasant tones of mature red fruits, plums and hints of tobacco, coffee and ground pepper.
"The 2007 Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Rosso (Piedirosso) flows with an intriguing array of bacon, fat, menthol, cured meats, smoke, tar, wild herbs and cherries. Subtle notes of toasted oak make an appearance on the finish. This is a great bottle with which to explore the vinous delights of Campania while not spending a fortune. It is not to be missed! Anticipated maturity: 2009-2017.
