Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

95% Carmenere, complemented by 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is aged for ten months in French and American oak barrels, followed by an additional eight months of aging in bottle for further refinement.

This wine has a very attractive red–violet color with blue tones. On the nose ripe fig, black and red berries, and chocolate notes. On the palate, intense fruit with coffee notes. A well-structured wine with smooth and silky tannins. Very balanced with a long finish. Ideal for lamb or spicy cuisine.

But in the early nineties, thanks to DNA...
