Winemaker's Notes

Color: Strong ruby red and transparent.

Bouquet: Ample and complex: notes of cherry, raspberry and red currant give freshness to the wine.

Flavor: The wine is fruity, well-balanced and well-structured.Alcohol and acidity are in good harmony. The wine is warm and round. The after-taste confirms the character of the bouquet. This wine has a long-lasting and persistent flavor.

Critical Acclaim

"Tedeschi's Ripasso offers unique aromas that recall forest berry, bramble, green spice and crushed bay leaf. It’s a succulent and slightly sweet tasting wine with bursting fruit flavors and thick, chewy density."

Aging quickly, slightly oxidized, dried out character- needed to be drunk a year or two ago!

Classic Italian red, hearty and full bodied with a little sting to the palate. Lacks elegance.

I love the Tomassi ripasso, as well as the masi campofiorin. The Tedeschi opened up, finally, but was never great.
