We have added the following products to your shopping cart from a previous visit:
Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.
Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.
Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
The Dentelles terroir has given of its best in this vintage. Aromatic freshness is mixed with beautifully concentrated dark fruit, cassis and spices. The palate is long and persistent with fine, though evident tannins. Aging will round off this Gigondas — ideal for laying down for a few years.
Blend: 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre
"This has stunning black tea, warm ganache and roasted alder aromas giving way to a very lush yet defined core of braised fig, blackberry cobbler and pastis-soaked plum fruit. The long, dark finish is muscular, but polished and caressing. Best from 2014 through 2022."
"Opaque ruby. Pungent aromas of red berry preserves, cherry, smoky herbs and potpourri, with touches of vanilla and cola. Pliant raspberry and candied cherry flavors pick up spiciness in the mid-palate, along with a hint of minerals. Bright and lively on the persistent finish, which is given shape by velvety tannins."
International Wine Cellar
"The outstanding 2010 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes exhibits abundant notes of flowers, crushed rocks, black raspberries and blueberries as well as lots of glycerin and body. This spicy, well-delineated beauty can be drunk over the next 10-15 years."

It is a partnership between Dominique Laurent, a former pattisier (and with the girth to go with it) and one of the hottest names in Burgundy, and Michel Tardieu, a dynamic young winemaker. Tardieu-Laurent is an extremely unusual operation in that they are a negociant only, buying young wines from growers all over the Rhone, which...Read More About Tardieu-Laurent
The muscleman of the Southern Rhone, Gigondas is situated right under the rugged, rocky range of the Dentelles de Montmirail - a sign of the rustic, edgy flavor found in wines from the area. The region, once a Cotes-du-Rhone village, earned its own appellation in 1971. Producing reds and roses, Gigondas creates top quality reds sometimes rivaling its...Read More About Gigondas

Most of these varieties are used as secondary blending partners, often comprising less than 10% of the blend. The primary red players of Rhone blends are Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. Most wines from the Southern Rhone use Grenache as their...Read More About Rhone Red Blends
