Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

A combination of barrel and stainless steel fermentation resulted in bright and floral aromatics, with layers of pear, apple and citrus, highlighted with a hint of vanilla. The intense fruit in this wine is beautifully integrated with refreshing acidity and French oak. Sleepy Hollow's signature mineral character and creamy textures add complexity to a long, explosive finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Light, bright yellow. Musky pear skin, peach pit and citrus pith on the fragrant, leesy nose. On the palate, spicy orchard and pit fruit flavors and sweeter honeydew and tangerine qualities gain strength with air. Shows very good energy and lift, with a buttery nuance adding breadth. Closes silky and long, with resonating spiciness and lingering sweet citrus fruit qualities. This elegant wine has the balance to repay a little patience."
