Bruno Tait is becoming quite well known
for his high quality, big and strapping, Barossa Shiraz, having received
strong critical reviews over the last several vintages. What people
don't realize is that he makes a pretty serious Cabernet as well. But
Cabernet coming from the Barossa almost always seems like an after
thought to most people, as most consumer energy and attention almost
inevitably goes towards the Shiraz'. This oversight is many times
unfounded as Cabernet out of the Barossa is no second-class act and can
deliver the flavor profile and textural appeal of Shiraz as well. Bruno
likes his wines to have lots of texture, soft and supple, with sleek
tannins and full on fruit intensity.
This Barossa Cabernet from
Tait has an intriguing nose with perfumed, dried spice box aromas, along
with black berry fruits and an earthy underpinning. The palate is
intensely fruity in a medium-full bodied format with ultra, silky,
fine-grained tannins that allows this wine to be consumed now with great
pleasure or throughout the next 6-8 years. A very full on fleshy style
that will please those who are looking for a Cabernet that is mouth
filling and soft textured with good fruit intensity - all the things
that the Barossa is famous for.

(cab-uhr-NAY sow-veeh-yawn) King of Red Many refer to Cabernet Sauvignon as the king of red grapes. Perhaps that title is due to its ability to grow worldwide in a number of climates, or to the fact that it produces wine with such character yet such diversity. Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...Read More About Cabernet Sauvignon
