"A fabulous white Rhone blend of enormous complexity and charm. Fills the mouth with butterscotch, Crème brulee, pineapple, mineral, vanilla, ripe white peach and hazelnut flavors, and, as sweet as that sounds, the wine is dry and crisp. The greatest Esprit Blanc ever. Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Viognier."-Wine Enthusiast
"The 2003 Esprit de Beaucastel white is a blend of 68% Roussanne, 27% Grenache Blanc, and 5% Viognier. More tightly textured, with seemingly higher acidity than the 2002, it is a powerful, broad, concentrated effort offering a smorgasbord of aromas and flavors, including candle wax, lanolin, pineapples and other tropical fruits, and rose water."-Wine Advocate
The Perrins of Chateau de Beaucastel and Robert Haas, their importer since 1970, founded Tablas Creek Vineyard in 1990. They imported selected French cuttings of Mourvedre, Grenache, Syrah and Counoise and multiplied, grafted and planted their own vines, which they farm organically. This blended wine, in the image of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, is 100% estate-grown and bottled.

Other white grapes may be included in miniscule amounts, but the above four are the principles. In the Rhone, Viognier is typically alone in the Northern Rhone and absent in the Southern Rhone, although, in the north, 20% of the variety...Read More About Rhone White Blends
