In the autumn of 1989, Jess Jackson acquired the Zellerbach winery and renamed it in honor of his late father, Jess Stonestreet Jackson. Stonestreet quickly garnered international acclaim for their powerful reds and luscious whites.
Today, Stonestreet wines are undergoing a transformation, using fruit from Alexander Mountain Estate and new winemaking techniques. Alexander Mountain Estate, with lean, well-draining soils and cooler temperature, produces fruit with smaller berries and more intense color and flavor. Stonestreet is dedicated to fulfilling the promise of Alexander Valley's exceptional and distinctive vineyards. Traditional, Old World methods of hand harvesting, small barrel lot production, native yeast fermentation and bottling each wine unfiltered brings out the best in specific grape varieties and provides the quality framework for each Stonestreet wine.

Broken Road is consistently one of the most savory, stony wines from the mountain and in the cooler 2011 vintage it displays those elements in spades. Lemon verbena and int emerge rst from the glass, opening to a rich entry that cascades through peach pit, shell and ocean spray - all culminating...

The Upper Barn is often Stonestreet's most transporting Chardonnay in each vintage, and the 2010 is no exception. White peach, stargazer lily and chalk flood the nose, while the palate mirrors these flavors with a savory, underpinning note. The texture is filigreed, exhibiting that delicacy of...

The 2009 Monument Ridge is a textbook expression of an even, beautiful vintage on the mountain: aromas of violet, blackberry and blueberry pop from the glass. In the background, one finds complex notes of star anise, ginger and wet slate. While richness is evident on the palate, a real freshness...

This 2006 Legacy is the sixteenth release of our Bordeaux-style varietal blend.
With this vintage, we selected lots of wine from our estate vineyards in the hills
and eastern mountains enclosing the southern end of the Alexander Valley.

At 1,800 feet and with a southwest exposure, this site sees sun nearly all day long, yet the Pacific breezes and gravel soils promote a distinct focus and minerality in the grapes from this block. Seismic activity literally creates the Broken Road, after which this vineyard is named, so it is...

As the name would suggest, although this site lies at a high elevation, its bench-like exposure allows a pronounced richness to develop in the grapes. Here on the gravel soils, aromas and flavors of baked apple, shortbread, warm spice and roasted almond open to a powerful, richly textured palate;...

At 1,000 feet, the Lower Rim vineyard resides in a protective bowl rich
with iron oxide that contributes to the deep red color of the soil in this
block. The combination of the rich soils and PM clone (named for Peter
Michael) produce wines that are weighty and fleshy with vivid fruit.

Opaque in color, the Monument Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon conveys aromas and flavors of black cherry, damson plum, blueberry, cardamom, dried herbs and orange peel.
