Stonegate Cabernet Sauvignon 1999
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
This full bodied, deep, dark Cabernet Sauvignon evokes aromas of earthy mushrooms complemented with fragrances of cassis and black cherry. On the palate, luscious fruit forward layers of flavor are wrapped with hints of cedar and oak. Dark jammy fruit and nuances of earth and tobacco linger on the long finish. The supple oak tannins create a silky mouthfeel. Enjoy now, or cellar for ten years or more.
The mid-1970s saw a boom of determined winemaking families staking new ground in the Napa Valley and making wines of great distinction. From that era, Stonegate became synonymous with universally heralded Napa Valley Cabernet and Chardonnay. It's not rare to see a wine's country of origin listed as "California." A country into itself in the wine world, California makes enough varieties and styles to match many European wine countries. It produces a diverse range of wines that span the quality spectrum.
