Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Alcohol By Volume: 13.5%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The fruit in this wine is concentrated but wonderfully balanced and absolutely delicious. It presents itself in the initial aromas, full of ripe cherry and black stone fruit in the nose. The flavors are full of pure, clean fruit as well – plum, blueberry and blackberry are all enhanced by warm, brown spices that linger into the finish. Perfect as a pre-dinner aperitif, as well as an ideal match for a variety of rich autumn dishes.
