Winemaker's Notes:
Cabernet Sauvignon can be an intimidating wine for people just getting into drinking reds. With the Stone Cellars Cabernet, Beringer tries to make it more approachable and friendly, while still delivering a wine that is varietally true.
To do this, they concentrated on the rich fruitiness of the varietal, bringing forward the ripe summer berry flavors and a touch of earthiness. 40 percent of the wine is aged in barrel, imparting just enough spice overlay without adding any aggressive oak notes. It's a smooth, robust and classically structured Cabernet. |
