Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The color is a deep vibrant red with deep purple hues. The aroma is of raspberry, cherry liqueur, cinnamon, and plum. On the palate is cherry, plum, and spice; very textural.

Critical Acclaim

" Bright red. Fresh red berries, Indian spices and herbs on the nose, with a peppery quality adding urgency. Juicy, fine-grained red fruit flavors show a delicate touch and pick up tangy acidity with air. Nicely brisk on the finish, with the peppery note repeating. I like this wine's clarity and cut."
