The Leap Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon opens with complex aromas of black cherry, dark chocolate, clove and a hint of espresso. The structure is dense and compact with harmonious layers of blackberry, black currant, vanilla and anise. Fully resolved and mature tannins carry through to a long finish of brambles, coffee and cocoa powder.
"A barrel sample of the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Leap Estate Reserve reveals promising potential. Its opaque deep ruby/purple color is followed by a wine with higher acids and more noticeable structure than the 2004, as well as deep, concentrated blackcurrant and cherry fruit intermixed with tobacco leaf, cedar, and new oak. It should drink nicely for 15-20 years.
