Winemaker's Notes

A sweet, rich perfume of Bing cherry, blackberry, cassis, and rhubarb leads to savory aromas of licorice, cedar, truffles and toasted almonds. Similar flavors coat the palate with additional notes of cocoa powder and vanilla. The wine is generous in character and framed by silky, smooth tannins.

Critical Acclaim

"There is a real sense of kinship between this offering and the winery's flagship Cask 23 bottling, and, if perhaps not so deep nor a wine of so many pieces, it very much echoes the finesse and keen composition of the latter. It is full on the palate and wonderfully supple yet not in the least soft, and its fine spine of tannin lends the right touch of firmness at just the right time. It is a wine that is bound to tempt early drinking, but its textbook balance is a sure guarantor of further improvement for five or more years."
