    The perfume of orange blossoms in spring rain is a fleeting first impression-one is left with the more lasting one of dried apricot and baked pear scented by freshly grated nutmeg. A lush creamy entry of summer-ripe white peach laced with a touch offlintiness lifts on diaphanous wings-abreathtaking mix of poetry of fruit and brightness. This wine is not necessarily a ""food wine"" as they say, because its beauties are enough unto themselves, but if you are wondering, it will delightfully accompany whole poached King salmon in a beurre blanc sauce or rabbit cooked hunter style and served over creamy polenta.

    History of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars

    Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars was founded in 1970 with the purchase of a 40 acre property in the now famed Stag’s Leap District AVA in Napa Valley. The winery brought international recognition to California winemaking and the Napa Valley region when their 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon won the 1976 Paris Tasting, also known as the "Judgement of Paris."
