Winemaker's Notes:

A perennial favorite on restaurant wine lists, Artemis is generous in flavor and velvety in texture. Aromas of cassis and caramel rise and give way to earthy notes of black olive, black pepper, and truffles. Classic flavors of cassis and black cherry fill the mouth as notes of violets and vanilla linger on the finish.

Enjoy this wine with braised short ribs on a cold winter's night or with a porcini and gorgonzola burger for you gourmet grillers.

About Stag's Leap Wine Cellars:

Founded in 1970 by the Warren Winiarski family, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is considered a Napa Valley first growth producing world-renowned Cabernet Sauvignon from its historic vineyards. The winery first brought international recognition to California winemaking and the Napa Valley when its 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon won the now famous 1976 Paris Tasting (also known as the “Judgment of Paris”) by besting some of the most celebrated wines of Bordeaux. Their three estate-grown wines—CASK 23, S.L.V., and FAY—are among the most highly regarded and collected Cabernet Sauvignons worldwide. The wines are fashioned to express classic elegance, structure and ageability. It's a style that has become known as "an iron fist in a velvet glove."

The winery is also recognized for its Napa Valley collection of wines including ARTEMIS Cabernet Sauvignon and KARIA Chardonnay. These wines provide a strong link to the origin, style, and character of the limited-production estate wines, but they are produced in quantities that make them more accessible.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars should not be confused with Stags' Leap Winery, a neighboring property best known for their Petite Syrah.
