Winemaker's Notes:

The 1999 release of Cabernet Sauvignon from Spottswoode is another classic reflection of our estate vineyard. This wine is friendly and quite approachable with all of the aromas and flavors that are characteristic of Spottswoode - blueberry, blackberry, plum, cassis and molasses. With a bit of dried rose petal, bay leaf and plum on the finish, this wine is a delicious drink upon release. Compared with some of the bigger, more heavily structured vintages in the 90's, our 1999 is a bit more refined, fruit driven and showy in its youth.

Blend: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc

About Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery:

Spottswoode is a small, family-owned estate located on the western edge of St. Helena in the Napa Valley. The estate, which dates to the 1800s, includes classic formal gardens, pre-prohibition winery buildings and the 40-acre, organically farmed estate vineyard. Spottswoode focuses all of its attention on producing extremely limited quantities of two wines: Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
