Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

A much bolder wine than the 2009 vintage produced, making a fruitier wine to balance the lean minerality and refreshing acidity that Darling Sauvignon Blanc is famous for. It has a complex nose of cut grass and tropical fruit. The palate shows fresh grapefruit with a hint of minerality. The acidity is well-integrated for a balanced wine with good length and lingering passionfruit.

Critical Acclaim

"Bracing, with a invigorating set of chive, lime, gooseberry and mineral flavors that drive nicely through the well-defined finish. Drink now."
