Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Callabriga Douro 2008 is intensely red with shades of purple. It has complex aromas dominated by notes of red fruits, such as plum and blackberry, a discreet touch of oak and hints of spice. It is a balanced full-bodied wine, with good tannins and a rich and prolonged finish with a black fruits complexity.

Delicious with meat and aromatic seasoning, this wine is at its best at a temperature of 16º C-18º C. Try it with roast leg of lamb and rosemary.

Callabriga Douro 2008 is made from Tinta Roriz and other grape varieties from the region (Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional)
