Simi Sauvignon Blanc 2012
Sauvignon Blanc
from Sonoma County, California
winemaker's notes:
This brilliantly clear, pale-straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc leads with fresh and appealing aromas of Meyer lemon, lime zest, stone fruit, grapefruit, tart apple, and hints of flowers followed by a lively palate which reprises the lemon, lime, and grapefruit themes of the nose. This refreshing, bright, and crisp wine has a long finish, and ends with a lingering impression of citrus and wet stone.
Try this wine with fresh Dungeness crab meat crumbled atop arugula tossed with ruby red grapefruit, golden beats, avocado, and Meyer lemon vinaigrette or pan roasted chicken breast fanned atop pappardelle pasta tossed with English peas and pea sprouts in a lemon and brown butter sauce, topped with gremolata crumble.
Blend: 97% Sauvignon Blanc, 2% Semillon, 1% Viognier

Not a good vintage. The 2010 was outstanding, this was the first Simi that I didn't love. Not much too it, tasted watery.
Bright and fruity.
Light & Crisp
