Deep garnet with a ruby edge, our 2009 Sonoma County Merlot is spicy and a bit dark and brooding as it opens with aromas of exotic sandalwood, sweet dark spices, cloves, and cinnamon along with hints of black pepper and bay. The rich, dark
character continues with layered flavors of red plum, black cherry, and blackberry preserves, framed with notes of toasty oak, that give depth to this medium-bodied, nicely structured wine. The finish offers soft cocoa tannins. We suggest you enjoy this Merlot with exotic mushroom and oven-dried Roma tomato polenta torte, panroasted
duck breast with Bing cherry sauce, or roasted salmon and goat cheese latke.
Blend: 98% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon
