Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

A beautiful Estate grown and produced Merlot from Silverado's Mt. George Vineyard, a site ideally suited to the growth of this Bordeaux varietal. This 2008 Merlot has bright, ripe cherry aromas interlaced with dried and fresh herb notes. On the palate, medium to full body with spicy berry flavors. The balanced acidity and tannin lead to a long finish.

Blend: 91% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1%Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot
