Winemaker's Notes:
The current release of the 2008 Sherwood Pinot Noir has the makeup to be a real beauty. It possesses a deep dark purple, reddish color along with outstanding fruit purity. Although a bit young and primary this has some serious depth and delineation to its fruit. Bright and vibrant this combines lots of riveting dark cherry, raspberry and loganberry fruit kissed with a touch of spice. What gives this wine so much appeal is its bright, tangy fruit that although quite youthful, has noted persistence and vibrancy in the palate. With a little bit of air time it fleshes out nicely and really shows some impressive fruit intensity. Give this a few more months to come together and then enjoy it for 3-4 years after that. If you try it young decant it to let it open up. It's quite impressive. |
