Shelton Chardonnay 2001

Chardonnay is traditionally linked with the great white wines produced in French Burgundy. This crisp and clean white wine became extremely popular in the 1980s when consumers felt comfortable requesting wine by specific grape type, and continues to reign supreme in popularity. Recently, California has been recognized as a world-class producer of Chardonnay. Shelton Vineyards is proud to present our Chardonnay produced from grapes grown in California. We are excited about producing this variety in our estate vineyards, since our local growing environment and climate - moderate summers and mild winters - are exceptionally suited for fashioning extraordinary Chardonnay. Ripe apple flavors are the benchmark of this grape, with just enough acidity to keep the wine fresh tasting. Our Chardonnay was aged exclusively in French oak barrels adding complexity and concentration to the wines' character. This is an excellent and refreshing wine to enjoy at picnics and other summer gatherings.
