Winemaker's Notes:

 Aromas of warm black fruit, cedar, chocolate, and dried herbs, followed by rich, juicy flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate, and tobacco, with a nice long finish. The tannins are ripe and supple.

"There are approximately 9,000 cases of the Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five Stags Leap. The dark ruby/purple-tinged 2006 offers delicious red currant and black cherry fruit interwoven with notions of loamy soil and spring flowers. It is an elegant, stylish effort to enjoy over the next 10-15 years." 89 Points

About Shafer Vineyards:

 John Shafer and his family founded Shafer Vineyards, located in the Stags Leap District of the Napa Valley, in 1979. From the Shafers' first wine, a 1978 Cabernet Sauvignon, their wines have won much acclaim. Today, the Shafers farm 200 acres of vineyard in the Stags Leap District, Carneros and Oak Knoll regions. Their flagship wine, Hillside Select, is produced from selected blocks of the family's hillside vineyards and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
