Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

We've made Viognier from Talcott Vineyard for a number of years, and are very happy with the balance and varietal character the site offers. 2009 was a bit warmer than normal, with near average yields. I think of this wine as a "peach danish" in a glass: Sweet ripe peach, toasty creamy notes and beautifully soft and accessible. Light smoky and honeysuckle notes round out the aromas and flavors. Citrus takes a back seat to the stone fruits this vintage. This wine really reaches out to you in all regards: color, aroma, and palate.
