Winemaker's Notes

Deep purple color with black hints. Complex, integrated aroma of spices, cassis, berry, coffee, and vanilla. A powerful Cabernet on the palate, this wine has tremendous structure and an intensity of flavor that goes on and on. 100 percent Seven Hills Vineyard, 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon; aged in a blend of American oak, three different French woods and rare Caucasian oak, all medium-plus to heavy toasts. After aging for 22 months in oak, the wine was given a light fining and loose filtration prior to bottling in July of 1998. Possesses sufficient acidity and tannin for exquisite evolution in the cellar over the next 5 to 8 years.
