Seña is the fulfillment of a dream shared by Napa Valley's Robert Mondavi and Chile's Eduardo Chadwick to produce a world-class wine that captures the essence of Chile's outstanding terroir. In the Spanish language, the word Seña is rich with nuance and meaning, including a distinguishing mark or personal signature. For this reason, these two world-renowned winegrowers proudly display their signatures on every bottle of Seña.
Our 1998 Seña has beautiful fruit expression and supple tannins from the long hang time of the 1998 vintage. Rich and powerful, yet with great elegance, this vintage of Seña unfolds in layers of cassis, black cherry and berry, with complex nuances of dark chocolate and sweet, crushed spices. The ripe black fruit and vanilla oak notes, perfectly integrated from maturation in French oak barrels, weave through the flavors and linger on the long, velvety finish.
